Product Marketing Manager

The Product & Partner Marketing Manager is responsible for first, the execution of marketing strategies that drive awareness, comprehension, and adoption of new product enhancements and second, managing partnership relationships. This role is instrumental in bringing new product launches to market and collaborates on the development of strategies with both the Product team and the Director of Marketing. The role also manages our relationships with all industry integration and leverage partners, ensuring a mutually beneficial affiliation. In order to be highly effective, the manager in this position will need an extensive knowledge of Sungage’s product, the Product team process, the target audiences, the competitive landscape, marketing communication channels, the creative development process and possess excellent strategic, project management, communication, collaboration and leadership skills.
The Product & Partner Marketing Manager is responsible for developing and managing tools, content and resources that ensure successful launch of new products and productive relationships with industry partners. The right candidate has 4 - 7 years of experience in a dynamic, fast-paced marketing environment where innovation and agility are highly valued and at least 2 years in a product-specific marketing role. This position reports to the Director of Marketing.
Responsibilities:
- Develop positioning and messaging that resonates with Sungage’s target buyer personas in a compelling way when communicating new product enhancements
- Collaborate with the Product team to set quantitative goals for each launch
- Assist Product with soft-launch communication, testing and audience feedback
- Develop marketing tactics for building maximum awareness of new product launches using target channels such as email, portal messaging, SMS texting, e-newsletters, webinars, blogs, social media, videos, sales enablement tools and others as well as cross-functional channels such as customer service or sales scripting/visual aids
- Create and maintain system-generated communications
- Work with product and sales leadership to manage and drive marketing launch strategies for SaaS integration and channel partnerships; vet and recommend potential new partnerships using market research and consumer insights
- Lead the effort to continuously gain and share target audience intelligence, including demographics, psychographics and buying process
- Ensure our brand voice and look is present in all target-facing communications
- Understand the competitive landscape—be an expert on their product offerings’ features, benefits and positioning
- Manage budgets which support the launch tactics and monitor and report on budget status to Director of Marketing
- Assess the effectiveness of the marketing programs that support each product launch and report to the business on learnings and recommendations for enhancements
- Assume supervisory responsibility as needed, providing guidance to the Specialist on relevant projects and assisting in their training/development as opportunities arise
- Participate in wider strategy of the company, looking beyond Marketing’s role in the overall success of the company and making suggestions and recommendations for improvement
Requirements:
- 4+ years of marketing experience with 2+ years working directly in product marketing, B2B or B2B SaaS experience preferred
- Passion for the environment; previous solar or greentech experience a plus
- Strong presentation and facilitation skills; comfortable in front of large, senior groups
- Excellent interpersonal skills - forming productive relationships with internal and external partners; a team player who excels at collaboration
- Strong written skills and an eye for directing graphic design development
- Experience with sales-led product marketing growth strategies and a love of enabling sales teams to succeed
- Exceptional critical thinking and project management skills; ability to prioritize and balance multiple, ongoing projects, organized and detail-oriented
- Able to work strategically on long-term projects while juggling day-to-day operations
- A can-do attitude with a reputation for helping others
- Excellent ROI-tracking skills, able to examine what is –or isn’t—working
- Comfortable using collaboration and CRM tools such as Slack, Jira, HubSpot and Salesforce, presentation tools such as PPT, Excel, Google Slides and Adobe, automation tools such as Pendo and Google Analytics and networking tools such as LinkedIn, Facebook and Instagram; experience with partner marketing tools like Crossbeam a plus
- Bachelor’s degree in business or marketing; MBA preferred
